Optics is a full service custom manufacturer of precision optical components,
specializing in 'Ultra-Smooth' (< 1 Å rms) surface finishes. Our
services include shaping, lapping, polishing, test & metrology, optical
contacting/bonding, precision cleaning, as well as IBS thin film deposition.

Dennis Hotchkiss
- President & CEO
Dennis Hotchkiss began his optics career in 1966 working at several
small and large optical manufacturing shops. Over the years, he
successfully developed and refined many polishing processes capable of
producing optical surfaces with finishes of less than 1 Å rms.
Finding his niche in the polishing world, he ventured out in 1974 and
co-founded what would become a highly successful, world class, optical
manufacturing company. His company was sold back in 2000 and now,
with over 40+ years in the industry, his skills are once again being
utilized here at Coastline Optics.

Gene Lapp
- Vice President & GM
Beginning his optical career back in 1981, Gene spent several years
engineering, designing, and refining manufacturing processes. A
combination of these skills along with his focused 'attention to detail'
and keen business sense quickly advanced him into the position of
Quality Systems Manager. Utilizing his knowledge of the manufacturing
processes, Gene was highly successful in developing and implementing
several company wide quality systems. Now, with over 25 years
experience, Gene is well positioned to help lead Coastline Optics into
the future.

John Tardif
- VP, Business Development
John brings nearly 30 years of optical manufacturing experience to
Coastline Optics. After several years of working through the many
facets of optical manufacturing, John's exceptional ability to see the
'big picture' eventually led him to serve as Production Manager for a
large, world class, optical manufacturing company. His 20+ years
leading production insures that Coastline Optics remains focused,
on-track, and well positioned for the future.

Mark Lapp
- VP, Thin Film Operations
Mark began his career in optics at the
ripe old age of 17. What started as a part time summer job, soon
became a life long career. After moving through the maze of
optical manufacturing, he quickly found his niche in optical coatings
and coating design. Since the early days of Ion-Beam Sputtering,
Mark's natural talent and intuition has kept him at the forefront of the
Optical Thin Film industry. There's no question that Mark's vast
experience and knowledge will help insure Coastline Optics remains at
the front of the pack.

Dave Beaumont
- Manager, Production Engineering
When it comes to mechanical engineering and design, Dave is considered
by some to be the 'jack of all trades, master of all'.
Almost his entire career has been devoted to machine engineering and
development. Whether tooling up for a production run or designing
machine from scratch, Dave's extensive 30 year experience gives
Coastline Optics the unique strength and capability to respond quickly
to manufacturing needs.
